They say birds of a feather flock together. Such was the case on Nov. 21 as two local businesses sharing a penchant for supporting their community co-hosted a festive Turkey Give-Away. Employees of both Kendall-based Dimelo305 and Dade County Federal Credit Union (DCFCU) worked side-by-side distributing 200 free turkeys to grateful credit union members and non-members at the DCFCU’s Miami Gardens Branch, 20645 NW 2nd Ave., Miami Gardens, FL 33169.
Contributing to the festive atmosphere, Dimelo305 Co-Founders Gerson Sanchez and Ariel Pentzke were on hand to “pump up the volume” at this family-fun event with live music while its premier video production crew captured the spirit of the season through on-camera interviews with local families, friends, and staff that gathered in the branch’s parking lot
DCFCU’s stated mission is “To Deliver the Highest Level of Service by Providing Solutions to Your Financial Needs.” But according to Federica Chalumeau, DCFCU Senior Vice President of Operations and Sales, this week it was also about ensuring that people were provided an opportunity to enjoy their Thanksgiving to the fullest – with a free turkey! In addition to savings, checking, loans, and credit cards, DCFCU offers a wide range products and services at local branches including Kendall, Sweetwater, Government Center-Miami, Hialeah, Homestead, Jackson Memorial Hospital, and Nicklaus Children’s Hospital-Miami, as well as Miami Gardens.
“At Dade County Federal Credit Union, our commitment to our people is unwavering. Year after year, you are our top priority,” said Chalumeau. “Giving away turkeys is our annual tradition, a small token of appreciation for the heart of our community.”
Further noting that the credit union has been a proud member of the community since 1939, Dimelo305 Co-Founder Ariel Pentzke is quick to add, “We too share in that ‘Miami hometown pride.’ This amazingly dynamic city produced us and we want to give back. So, it is natural that Dimelo305 engaged with the community in this wonderful event geared toward raising the spirits of DCFCU members and the public in general who might need a hand this holiday season in making their Thanksgiving special – and memorable.”
