Staff from Elements for Women- Sunset, a premium health club for women, participated in the American Cancer Society’s Relay for Life of East Kendall conducted Mar. 9-10 at Baptist Hospital.
Over $1,800 for cancer research, education and patient services was raised by Elements-Sunset through contributions from members and event participants who visited Elements’ tent.
Henry Cedeno led a lively Zumba class from the main stage while general manager Jeannette Jarquin and other Elements- Sunset staff members sold raffles, day passes, “10 classes for $10” passes and $5 personal training evaluations from a tent during the two-day event.
“This is the second year we’ve participated and we plan to make this a yearly event,” Jarquin said. “Our club members as well as participants at the event were very generous this year. It’s great to see their energy and enthusiasm for such a great cause.”
Relay for Life of East Kendall is an all-night survivors’ celebration, campout and relay-style walk around Baptist Hospital’s campus lake. Teams of walkers and companies like Elements-Sunset combine efforts to raise funds for the American Cancer Society.
