Feeding South Florida aids Hurricane Milton recovery
Feeding South Florida has been working around the clock to address challenges facing hurricane impacted communities.

In the aftermath of Hurricane Milton, Feeding South Florida, in partnership with its network of Feeding America and Feeding Florida food banks in Tampa, Sarasota and Fort Myers, has been working relentlessly around the clock to assess and address the challenges facing impacted communities across the state.

Feeding South Florida proactively scales its operations in anticipation of natural disasters, ensuring that the community receives the vital support it needs and that food and essential supplies are ready for immediate distribution.

Feeding South Florida remains in constant communication with state and local authorities and other disaster response agencies to ensure it is equipped to respond to both immediate and long-term recovery efforts, including providing food, water, cleaning supplies, trucks and staffing support. Its efforts align with regional relief strategies, maximizing efficiency and expanding its reach.

Feeding South Florida has access to a wide array of resources, from its inventory of fresh food, clean water and frozen meals ready for rapid distribution to cleaning supplies, baby products and local restaurants volunteering to travel to affected areas and prepare fresh, hot meals. This allows Feeding South Florida to respond quickly and efficiently, to meet the demand of those most affected by the storm.

In anticipation of Hurricane Milton, Feeding South Florida also organized the delivery of essential breakfast, lunch and dinner meals to individuals who were in shelters across Miami-Dade County.

For those wishing to contribute, the best way to help is by volunteering at Feeding South Florida. Volunteers can assist by assembling food boxes, preparing care packages and sorting supplies for families impacted by flooding or power outages.
