With the touch of a button, Zumex automatic juicers make it easy to enjoy natural, freshly squeezed orange juice and benefit from the many vitamins and minerals that come straight from the orange.

Coconut Grove resident Emilse Longo and Coral Gables resident Gina Lopez, distributors for Zumex of America, are determined to make having a “Zumex” as easy as having your “Starbucks.”

The revolutionary Zumex, the No. 1 selling juicing machines in the world, are manufactured in Valencia, Spain and are distributed to more than 70 countries. The machines come in a variety of sizes to meet the needs of a small café or a busy restaurant.

The Zumex Essential can process 17 fruits per minute, making four to five glasses of juice. The Zumex Versatile processes 27 fruits per minute, producing seven glasses of juice. The Zumex Speed is perfect for high volume restaurants and hotels and processes 38 oranges per minute, making 10 glasses of orange juice.

The Zumex juicers are available in counter top and podium versions, making them easily portable. They come in eye-catching designs of orange and yellow or metallic, so they sit nicely in high-end and trendy establishments. Lopez said that the units are quiet and easy to operate and clean, and the company offers excellent service, including technical support and replacement parts.

Royal Caribbean has Zumex self-serve juicing stations on its cruise ships. Joe’s Stone Crab uses Zumex to make orange juice as well as juice limes for it key lime pies. Atlantis in the Bahamas and The Breakers in Palm Beach utilize Zumex to serve natural, fresh squeezed orange juice in their hotel restaurants, and Kroger supermarkets also will feature Zumex in their stores.

Lopez and Longo, who met as opponents on the tennis court seven years ago and have been great friends since, are on a mission to get Zumex into area restaurants and coffee shops, hotels, supermarkets, schools and universities, cruise lines, hospitals, park concession stands, and catering companies, making natural, freshly squeezed orange juice available to everyone.

According to Longo, people ask for Zumex by name when they visit a café, restaurant or hotel in Spain and many other countries.

Between South Florida and California, more than 4,500 Zumex units have been distributed. Because of the difficult economic climate, businesses are looking for new ways to increase revenue. The pair noted that the profits realized from Zumex are similar to those of serving coffee.

“We live in the orange state,” Lopez said. “It’s a natural product with such great health benefits. Our goal is to have people say, ‘I’d like a Zumex, please.’”
