The German American Social Club of Greater Miami, Inc. (GASC), a non-profit organization with a mission to promote German culture and heritage, will celebrate it annual Oktoberfest, Oct.14-16 and 21-23, at the GASC’s clubhouse, 11919 SW 56 St.
The festival is co-sponsored by the Miami-Dade Cultural Affairs Department and will take place on Fridays from 6 p.m. to midnight, Saturdays from 1 p.m. to midnight, and Sundays from noon to 10 p.m.
Bands from Germany and Austria will provide music for your listening and dancing pleasure. Entertainment for all ages and authentic German food and beverages will be available to the public. The festival’s activities and presentations by the club’s Folkdance and “Schuhplattler” groups will take place inside the spacious clubhouse and outdoors under a large tent.
Entrance for adults is $10, youths age 6-20 is $5, and free for children under age 6, which includes all carnival rides and entertainment. Persons with a military ID are free at all times. Fire, Police, and Miami-Dade County employees are free on Sundays. Valid ID is required.
