Courage plus teamwork earned Officer of the Month citations for three Miami-Dade Police Hammocks District officers who prevented a potential suicide by a razor-threatening male on June 6. Called to a family home, the officers used crisis intervention training to prevent an individual from self-harm beyond that already inflicted. They later saw his transfer to Kendall Regional Medical Center for treatment and the expectation of full recovery from the incident.
