The Altman Companies, a Boca Raton-based nationally recognized developer, builder and manager of exceptional rental apartment communities, has announced that it has selected internationally acclaimed pop artist Hector Prado for its “Artist in Residency” program at Altís Ludlam Trail, a mixed-use, six-story apartment building in Miami. Prado has been chosen to exhibit at the Louvre in Paris in fall 2023 as part of the museum’s “New Emerging Masters” Carrousel exhibit.
The Altman Companies’ “Artist in Residency” program provides a practicing South Florida artist with a one-year rent-free apartment with den space to practice and fine-tune his/her craft. Prado will now have the opportunity to create and display his art on-site and engage with residents through monthly artistic events. The artists are selected for the residency program based on the quality, originality, creativity, workmanship and artistic distinction of their portfolio.
Prado’s artwork is recognized internationally by collectors and corporate brands around the world. Born and raised in Colombia, his work has garnered much critical acclaim, earning recognition at events such as the Cannes Festival, One Show, London Awards, Clio Awards, New York Festivals, Emmy Awards, and a special award for his artwork for Steven Spielberg’s HBO series “The Pacific.”
“We are extremely excited to have an artist of this caliber as our ‘Artist in Residency’ at Altís Ludlam Trail,” said Seth Wise, co-CEO of The Altman Companies. “This will provide an incredible opportunity for Hector while also exposing residents to some of the new and unique artistic experiences that Miami is famous for.”
Prado’s POP Style rises from a momentary impulse without a conscious reflection. Prado puts in every brush stroke vigor, enthusiasm and dynamic movement in order to convey a defining emotion. Prado’s artistic ability is rooted in his longstanding creative challenges with the art of observation, thanks to his award-winning graphic design background. His creative process is not painting images but rather the formation of a diverse explosion of colors and emotions.
