High school students bridging the digital divide for seniors

SeniorConnect is a student-led nonprofit initiative created by high school students who hold a deep and personal connection to the elderly community.

Inspired by the lives, stories, and values of their great-great-grandparents, the organization was founded with a simple yet powerful mission to ease loneliness among seniors by helping them connect with loved ones through technology.

Rooted in empathy, patience, and genuine human connection, Senior Connect focuses on guiding seniors in the use of simple, everyday technology such as FaceTime, text messaging, and basic phone features. While these tools may feel intuitive to younger generations, Senior Connect recognizes that they can be overwhelming or intimidating for many elderly individuals.

Through one-on-one guidance and compassionate instruction, Senior Connect helps seniors see, hear, and stay emotionally close to the people they love, even when distance or mobility becomes a barrier. Beyond technology, the initiative fosters meaningful relationships, reminding seniors that they are valued, heard, and not alone.

Senior Connect also emphasizes community collaboration and intergenerational understanding, encouraging young people to serve with kindness while learning from the wisdom and life experiences of older adults.

As a growing nonprofit organization, Senior Connect seeks to build partnerships with schools, senior centers, community organizations, and grant making institutions to expand its impact and reach more seniors in need of connection.
