Miami Killian High School graduate (Class of ’98) Adam Weinberg, Is bringing one of Israel’s most influential musicians, Daniel Zamir and his quartet, to South Florida to perform at the Pinecrest Gardens Banyan Bowl on Feb. 22.
Adam and his company, Gelb Promotions, are best known for their productions of concerts and PBS television specials with the likes of Andrea Bocelli and David Foster, as well as productions for Itzhak Perlman, Dudu Fisher, and others. Adam also has produced concerts for, and himself performed with the singer-songwriter Matisyahu.
“I met Danny Zamir through working with Matisyahu. Matisyahu and Danny went to college together and Danny was this virtuoso from
Israel that everyone in NYC wanted to play with. Matisyahu got him to perform on his records and tour with him several times, and I was immediately blown away by Danny’s incredible talent,” Adam said.
“I have wanted to bring Danny to perform with his quartet in the U.S. ever since,” he said. “My parents live in Pinecrest; many of the friends and families I grew up with live in Pinecrest; I have a special fondness for the area. I wanted to bring Danny for my family and childhood friends to get to experience talent at this level.
“Beyond his virtuosity, his performances are undeniably exciting and adventurous and the Pinecrest Gardens venue is absolutely beautiful. I would have never imaged a venue in my old neighborhood bringing jazz on a regular basis. It is the perfect fit.”
