For 2017, Infiniti has made big changes to the QX60 for the second year in a row.

This year, Infiniti has added to the model a new 3.5 liter V-6 engine under its recently redesigned hood. This year’s QX60 shows that affordable crossover capability does not have to mean relinquishing. The QX60 boasts a silky-smooth ride with a nicely designed interior, complete with an easy-access third row in this seven-seater.

The new 3.5-liter V-6 engine has 295 horsepower and 270 pound-feet of torque. The QX60 offers front wheel drive with an available all-wheel drive option.

While official figures have not been released yet, the 2017 QX60 has been rated at 21 mpg in the city and 27 mpg on the highway while using the front-drive option. However, if you’re looking for a more fuel-efficient option, the QX60 also is available in a hybrid variant which uses a supercharged 2.5-liter I-4 engine paired with an electric motor. This combination yields an improved fuel economy of 26 mpg in the city and 28 mpg on the highway.

As previously mentioned, the QX60 provides seating for seven across three rows. This third row doesn’t compromise cargo or interior space. Behind that third row is 15.8 cubic feet of cargo room — which is about what most compact sedans offer. With both rows of seating folded, the QX60 provides an ample amount of space totaling at 76.5 cubic feet. The back of the second-row seat is split 60/40, and the third row can split 50/50.

This also is true of the hybrid option in which, unlike many hybrids, cargo space is not compromised by the battery. Even the third row, albeit probably not the ideal spot for most adults, can comfortably fit teenagers or children with ample room and is great for those shorter rides. But as the largest wagon in its price range, that should come as no surprise.

Not only does the QX60 provide a ton of handy room, but Infiniti has also decked out the QX60 with several attractive interior features. Some of which include a moon roof and heated leather seats.

Beyond comfort and style, the QX60 also excels in performance and safety. The QX60 has scored well in crash tests, earning the IIHS Top Safety Pick award when paired with the optional forward collision warning system included in the Driver Assistance Package. Overall, the QX60 has also been given a five-star rating. When driving the QX60, you will find it is especially agile when navigating through a crowded parking lot or heavy traffic. Enhancing the driving experience is the comfortable seating and great support provided by the drivers seat.

The MSRP for the 2017 Infiniti QX60 starts at $43,100.
