Miami-Dade community members came together at Temple Beth Am in Pinecrest on Dec. 4, 2022, for a festive brunch, where friends old and new learned about Jewish National Fund-USA’s game-changing initiatives in Israel’s northern and southern regions.
Attendees also got the chance to hear from Alon Ben-Gurion, the grandson of David Ben-Gurion, the first Prime Minister of Israel and one of the country’s founding fathers. Alon spoke to the audience about the legacy of his grandfather and his impact on modern Israel.
“As both the South Dade chair for Jewish National Fund-USA and a proud member of Temple Beth Am, it was an honor to host our first JNF-USA Brunch for Israel featuring Alon Ben-Gurion at my synagogue,” said Laura Steckler. “We are excited to continue our partnership with such a visionary organization and invest in their many initiatives that support the land and people of Israel.”
Alon’s message was particularly resonant with supporters of Jewish National Fund-USA, who pride themselves in following David Ben-Gurion’s legacy by investing in the organization’s Blueprint Negev and Go North initiatives, which aim to bring 500,000 people to Israel’s south and 250,000 to Israel’s north, respectively. At the brunch, attendees got the opportunity to learn about several projects under these initiatives, from rehabilitative hospitals to their efforts to boost tourism and small businesses.
