In a small, cozy neighborhood in Kendall, lies a jewel among schools. Kendale Elementary
School is a top-quality school that continuously makes above average academic gains year after year. Kendale Elementary is a high achieving “A” school for more than 15 years. Through the Cambridge Primary Program, Kendale builds upon a solid foundation of comprehensive learning objectives geared to develop confidence, responsibility, and reflection. Kendale offers a full-time gifted program for qualifying students. It also offers a special education program providing students with disabilities a meaningful education in a safe and caring learning environment tailored to their educational needs.
Founded in 1969, Kendale Elementary School currently serves PK-5th grade at less than 400 students. A school of this size caters to a small community and allows for a more personalized approach to each student. Kendale strives in having children learn while providing them with a strong start in life. Children need role models that inspire them to reach their highest potential and Kendale strives to do this every day while making learning fun. The students are engaged in all the hands-on learning activities and parental involvement is always welcomed.
Kendale implements programs that prioritize the needs of students and prepares them to
be productive members in our global society. All curriculum programs focus on providing a solid foundation in reading and writing while strengthening mathematics and science problem-solving abilities in students. The school’s mission, vision and values are an integral part of its operating philosophy.
Through the hard work and support of the students, staff, parents, and community, the school has been the recipient of numerous awards acknowledging its many achievements, including the Blue Ribbon School of Excellence, the Florida Governor’s Sterling Award (the first school in the county to be recognized), the Intel/Scholastic’s 21st Century School of Distinction Award and the Blue Ribbon Lighthouse School Award. Kendale participated in the International Center for Leadership in Education’s Successful Practices Network and was recognized as a Model School. Kendale Elementary was recognized by the Florida Department of Education with the Five Star School Award.
