Compassion and positive action to prevent a potential suicide earned February Officer of the Month honors for Officer Kenneth Bonnet of Miami-Dade Police Kendall District. Dispatched to Miami-Dade College South Campus on Feb. 1, Officer Bonnet used inter-connected radio and telephone messaging to contact friends and family of an employee, threatening to take his life. Upon reaching the campus, Bonnet was able to intervene and take the dissuaded individual to Jackson South Health Services for involuntary examination.
