I’ve driven everything from flashy convertibles to rugged SUVs, but few rides have balanced power, tech, and South Florida style quite like this one.
Let’s start with presence. The Aviator doesn’t shout, it whispers sophistication. The redesigned mesh grille and flowing LED lighting draw admiring glances on Brickell Avenue, but it’s tasteful — not trying too hard.
I went with the Jet Appearance Package, which blacks out the trim and wheels. It gives the car a sleek, modern edge that pops against Miami’s sun-drenched streets and late-night neon. At night, when the Lincoln logo glows on the front grille and the lights pulse to greet you, it feels like stepping into a boutique hotel on wheels.
But it’s not just a pretty face. Under the hood, you have a 400-horsepower twin-turbo V6 that hauls with zero drama. Need to merge onto I-95 or zip across the Julia Tuttle Causeway? This engine delivers, every time.
Despite the size, it’s surprisingly nimble — thanks in part to the optional “dynamic handling package” and “air glide suspension” that smooth out the worst of our pothole-pocked roads. Whether you’re gliding down Biscayne Boulevard or heading to a weekend stay in the Keys, it’s a pleasure to drive. It also delivers 17 miles per gallon in the city and 24 miles per gallon on the highway.
Inside is where Lincoln really wins. The Aviator Reserve II is a sanctuary. The 30-adjustment massaging seats are more comfortable than anything in my apartment, and the Revel Ultima 3D audio system? It turns rush hour into a private concert. I’ve taken calls, hosted work meetings, even changed into a dinner outfit in this cabin. There’s enough room to keep the kids entertained in the back with their own USB-C ports, and still quiet enough to enjoy a podcast up front.
Tech-wise, Lincoln’s 13.2-inch screen and fully digital instrument cluster make Apple CarPlay and Android Auto feel seamless, and the new BlueCruise hands-free system is a godsend on specifically mapped stretches of controlled access highways known as “blue zones.” I used to dread the crawl across town during events at the arena, but that’s a thing of the past in this amazing luxury cruiser.
Of course, all of this comes at a price — mine rang up just north of $81,000. The Aviator gives you that without needing to go full yacht-size like a Navigator or G-Wagen. It’s refined, powerful, connected — and most importantly, it’s built for how we live in this city.
For those of us who want a ride that delivers elegance without sacrificing muscle, and technology without complication, the 2025 Aviator Reserve II might just be the perfect Miami SUV. It’s not just about where you’re going — it’s about arriving like you belong there.
