Whispering Manes therapeutic riding center accepted a $1,000 donation from the Dadeland Branch of Business Network International, a global business network.
The check donation was presented at the Whispering Manes riding facility in Kendall on Apr. 11. The donations will support more than 18 hours of riding time for local South Florida veterans from the Miami VA.
“Currently, we offer riding to our veterans at no charge,” said Erin Bauer, Whispering Manes executive director. “With donations like this, we are able to continue providing services while providing the best care for our horses.”
Whispering Manes mission is to benefit children and adults with special needs or disabilities by offering them the opportunity to interact with dedicated horses while promoting physical, mental, and emotional wellbeing.
“I’ve had horses for over 20 years and I believe in the benefit of equestrianism for stress relief,” said Pat Ambrose, Dadeland BNI co-chair of charity. Not only are the services stress relieving, they are conveniently located too.
“Our location is a compelling component of how we provide services to the local community,” said Mary Lynn Potenteau, Whispering Manes board chair. “We are the only equestrian facility offering these types of services in Central, Southwest Miami- Dade.”
Whispering Manes continues to provide services to veterans thanks to donations from the local community and Dadeland BNI continues to provide donations to local charities.
“Our chapter has a tradition of giving,” said Regina Zelonker, Dadeland BNI challenges and ethics coordinator. “Once a month our organization identifies a local charity to donate to.”
