Julie Goldman, long-time general manager at The Falls shopping center, has announced her retirement after a 20-plus-year career with Simon and the beautiful open-air shopping destination.

Goldman, whose experience includes 40 years working in the shopping center industry, served as The Falls original marketing director when the property opened its doors back in 1980.

During her time at The Falls, she oversaw the mall’s extensive expansion, which added more than 40 new stores and Macy’s, executed a grand reopening of the property in 1996, developed the inaugural Miracle on 136th Street Holiday Parade, supervised countless community events, opened the first American Girl store in the state of Florida and led openings of a multitude of other national brands, and appeared in a myriad of TV segments promoting the mall.

As general manager, Goldman has been responsible for the center’s day-to-day center operations while working closely with the property’s marketing director, its tenants and the greater community. Before joining The Falls, Goldman served as the regional marketing manager for Florida’s East region for DeBartolo Properties Management from 1984 to 1996.

“We are eternally grateful for Julie’s leadership and wisdom and thank her for her tireless years of service,” said Carla De Maria, director of Marketing and Business Development for The Falls. “Her passion, enthusiasm and vivacious personality will be missed.”
