M-DCPS Internship Opportunities

To the Friends and Members of the KFHA,  Kendall Democrats and Kendall Republicans,

We would like to invite you to help shape tomorrow and encourage our local young talent to remain in South Florida by partnering with Miami-Dade County Public Schools to host a high school intern enrolled in the Honors Academic Year Internship Program.  The Program gives juniors and seniors the ability to experience first-hand the career paths they intend to pursue beyond high school.

Please take a moment to review the Internship Provider Handbook:

If you elect to host an intern, he/she would report to your organization, on a specified schedule, for five or ten hours per week for the entire 2020-2021 school year, with the exception of school recesses and holidays.  The interns would begin in late August of this year and wrap up their internship in late May of next year.

The students will need to confirm their placement with you, through an in-person interview next month.  The deadline for you to sign up as an internship provider is Thursday, February 20, 2020.  The internships are generally unpaid, though you do have the option to provide a stipend to your student intern, if you choose.

Miami-Dade County Public Schools welcomes all companies to sign up to host an intern.  Specifically, the biggest need for opportunities for students are in the following locations and career fields.

If you have any questions, please contact M-DCPS Program Manager, C. Ana Perello at  cperello@dadeschools.net  or 305-995-1630.  Please share this information with your contacts and organizations within Kendall.
