M-DCPS Magnet and VPK program applications open

Miami-Dade County Public Schools (M-DCPS) has announced that applications for its Magnet programs and Voluntary Prekindergarten (VPK) are open for the 2026-27 school year.

This is your chance to discover a world of possibilities for your child. M-DCPS is redefining what is possible in public education with an expanded array of themes, cutting-edge programs, and opportunities from aerospace to artificial intelligence.

Applications are accepted exclusively through the M-DCPS Parent Portal at dadeschools.net.

The application window is open until Jan. 15, 2026. Once logged in – easily using an Apple or Google ID – parents can click the Admissions Application tile to get started.

With 121 schools and more than 350 programs spanning Pre-K through 12th grade, M-DCPS Magnet programs offer a pathway to a brighter future for every child. The VPK offerings, which include Reggio Emilia-inspired and Montessori-inspired programs, are available for students age 4 and can be applied for through the M-DCPS Parent Portal.
