For the second year in a row, Mario Prisuelos, renowned pianist from Spain who specializes in Chopin and other Romantic composers, will include Miami in his US tour.
Born in Madrid, Prisuelos studied at the Royal Conservatory of Music, then trained further in Vienna under the direction of Leonid Brumberg. He finished his studies in Madrid with Humberto Quagliata, continuing in the piano tradition of the great maestros like Alfred Cortot, Claudio Arrau or Arthur Rubinstein. He also received counsel from Phillip Dyson, Andrzej Jasinski and Alicia de Larrocha.
He launched his international career at the Feuchtwangen Piano Festival in the acclaimed Musikzauber Franken in Germany, where the critics praised his great talent and forceful power of communication. He then embarked on intense activity in recitals, with debuts in Vienna, Milan, Paris, London, Florence, Rio de Janeiro, New York, and Miami, among other cities.
Prisuelos is considered one of the most relevant pianists of his generation, as stated by the critics, demonstrated by his concerts and confirmed by his enormous European and American activity. He recently completed an extensive USA tour, debuting in New York’s Carnegie Hall.
Prisuelos is frequently called on to impart master classes at various conservatories and universities in Europe and America, including Princeton University, William Patterson University, Florida International University, the University of Costa Rica, and Conchita Espinosa Conservatory of the Arts, where in 2015 he taught a week of master classes to the Miami-based Conservatory’s most advanced student base. On November 1st, Prisuelos will return to Conchita Espinosa Conservatory of the Arts for a week of master classes with their music department.
On Friday, November 4th at 8:00 p.m., Prisuelos will perform works by Chopin and Spanish composers, Albeniz and Falla, among others, at the Rosita Segovia Theatre at Conchita Espinosa Academy. General admission tickets are $20. To reserve your seat to the concert, please contact Elisabela Alvarez-Valls at evalls@conchitaespinosa.com or 305-227-1149.
