MDFR USAR provides help following Hurricane DebbyAs Hurricane Debby made landfall in Florida’s Big Bend area, Miami-Dade Fire Rescue (MDFR) Urban Search and Rescue (USAR) Florida Task Force 1 (FL-TF1) began staging and breaking into search groups in North Florida. MDFR USAR FL-TF1 command personnel met with the Suwannee County emergency manager, law enforcement, and fire department officials for updates. Following passage of the storm FL-TF1 crews commenced hasty searches, a rapid search performed from the street that looks for damage and any potential needs for rescue. Crews encountered flooding and some structural damage.
