MDX Announces Election Results Board of Directors Executive Officers

MDX announces the results of the election of executive officers for the Board of Directors for the Fiscal Year 2021-2022. All officers were elected by unanimous vote.  Miami-Dade County Commission Chairman Jose “Pepe” Diaz was elected as Chair of the MDX Board of Directors.

“I am honored to be elected to lead this Board so our community can move forward with very important projects such as the new ramps from SR 836 to the Turnpike, which will also give direct access to the Dolphin Station Park and Ride, which I spearheaded as County Commissioner, “said Chairman Diaz. “This project will also provide much needed access to the Turnpike for hundreds of thousands of residents from West Dade via the future Kendall Parkway, ” added Chairman Diaz.

On May 18th, the Miami-Dade Board of County Commissioners elected County Commissioner Jose “Pepe” Diaz,  County Commissioner Jean Monestime, former County Commissioner Dennis Moss, business and civic leader Rafael Rodon, and Department of Transportation and Public Works Assistant Director, Darlene Fernandez as new members to MDX.  They were joined at today’s meeting by the three existing governor appointees, Luz Weinberg, Shelly Smith Fano, and Leonard Boord,

The Board elected former Commissioner Dennis Moss as Vice-Chair. “I have had a long history with MDX and have been proud of the work they have done for this community which I love,” stated Commissioner Moss. “I have worked with MDX particularly in their Aesthetic Enhancement Program for their system which has set us apart from other facilities,” said Moss.

Luz Weinberg was elected Treasurer. “I am proud to serve my county and state, and I am elated to serve with the new board members,” stated Ms. Weinberg who has been a two term governor’s appointee.
