SR 836/Dolphin Expressway­­­

Note: SR 836 is being reconstructed to add a new lane in the most congested areas and to make room for future express bus service. Drivers should look for guidance and detour signage along their routes.

New Lane Opening

A new lane on eastbound SR 836/Dolphin Expressway from NW 57^th Avenue to just east of NW 27^th Avenue has opened. This widening will provide increased capacity for drivers who will now have access to four lanes in this portion of the expressway. In addition, the reinforced inside shoulder along this route has also opened. This will provide increased safety for drivers and emergency vehicles that may need to access the shoulder due to an unforeseen circumstance. Drivers can expect an additional lane to open on westbound SR 836/Dolphin Expressway in approximately one month. These improvements are part of the Dolphin Expressway Modernization Project on SR 836 between NW 57^th Avenue and NW 17^th Avenue.

Extended Ramp Closure

The westbound SR 836 exit ramp to southbound NW 87^th Avenue is temporarily closed for reconstruction until further notice. Drivers should follow posted detour signs. Detours:

Drivers going westbound on SR 836 can:

• Take exit to NW 84^th Avenue/NW 12^th Street on right and stay left
• Turn left onto NW 12^th Street
• Turn left onto NW 87^th Avenue to continue southbound

Drivers going northbound on SR 826/Palmetto Expressway can:

• Take exit to westbound SR 836 on right
• Continue on westbound SR 836
• Take exit to southbound NW 107^th Avenue on right

The two right lanes on northbound NW 27^th Avenue between NW 11^th Street and NW 14^th Street will be closed for drill shaft installation on Friday, August 2 at 11 p.m. The lanes will reopen on Saturday, August 3 at 11 a.m.

Alternating single lanes on eastbound and westbound NW 12^th Street between 87^th Avenue and 82^nd Avenue will be intermittently closed for paving, earthwork and lighting work on Saturday, August 3 from 7 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.

SR 874/Don Shula Expressway

Note: As part of the SR 874 ramp connector to the SW 128^th Street project, the following lane closures will take place:

Full Closure

All lanes on southbound SR 874 will be closed for beams erection on Tuesday, July 30 and Thursday, August 1 from 11:00 p.m. to 5:00 a.m. each night. Traffic intending to connect to southbound Florida’s Turnpike will be detoured at SW 104^thStreet/Killian Parkway.

• Exit at the Southbound Off Ramp to West SW 104^th Street/Killian Parkway,
• Continue west along Killian Parkway until SW 117^th Avenue
• Turn south on SW 117^th Avenue
• Drive west to SW 120^th Street

Up to two lanes on northbound SR 874 will be closed from north of the SW 120^th Street Bridge to north of Killian Parkway/104^th Street for roadway re-striping and installation of temporary barrier wall.  This closure will take place from Sunday, July 28 through Thursday, August 1^, one lane will be closed from 9:00 p.m. and the second one will be closed from 11:00 pm until 5:30 a.m. each night.

Complete Street Closure

Northbound and southbound SW 127^th Avenue will be closed from 124^th Street to 130^th Street to perform drainage and roadway work. Detours will be implemented and access to all properties will be provided. These closures will take place on Monday, July 29 through Friday, August 2 from 9:00 p.m. to 5:30 a.m. and again on Saturday, August 3 from 7:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.   

Street Lane Closure

All lanes on northbound and southbound SW 117^th Avenue will be closed for beam erection on Tuesday, July 30 and Thursday, August 1 from 11:00 p.m. to 5:30 a.m.  each night. Please note that only local traffic will be permitted on SW 120^th Street and the bridge and from the bridge to SW 128^th Street. Drivers should follow posted detour signs. Detours:

• Turn right on SW 128^th Street and drive east to 107^th Ave
• Turn left on 107^th Ave and drive north to SW 120^th Street
• Turn left on SW 120^th Street and drive west to connect to 117^th Ave

Drivers going south will be detoured as follows:

• Turn left on 120^th Street and drive west to 107^th Ave
• Turn right on 107^th Ave and drive south to 128^th Street
• Turn right on 128^th Street and drive west to connect to 117^th Avenue.

Single Lane Closure on SW 128^th Street by Flagging Operation

Traffic eastbound and westbound on SW 128^th Street will be intermittently stopped by flagging operations from approximately SW 137^th Avenue to the cul-de-sac at the east end of 128^th Street for drainage, utilities work and roadway construction onMonday, July 29 through Friday, August 2 from 9:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. each day.

Street Lane Closure

The northbound and southbound center turn lanes on SW 122^nd Avenue will be closed at the 128^th Street intersection in order to perform drainage work. Left turn movement will be allowed from the adjacent traffic lane. These closures will take place onMonday, July 29 through Friday, August 2 from 9:00 p.m. to 5:30 a.m. each night and again on Saturday, August 3 from 7:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.   

Street Lane Closure

One traffic lane will be closed on northbound and/or southbound SW 137^th Avenue between SW 124^th and 131^st Streets for signal and roadway construction on Monday, July 29 through Friday, August 2 from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. and from 9:00 p.m. to 5:30 a.m., as needed.
