HCA Florida Mercy Hospital, a 488-bed facility and part of HCA Florida Healthcare, the largest healthcare system in the state, has announced the appointment of Allyssa Tobitt to the position of chief executive officer (CEO) of the hospital.
Tobitt has been with HCA Healthcare since 2012. Most recently, she was CEO of Parham Doctors’ Hospital in Richmond, VA. Under her leadership, the hospital earned a CMS quality 5-star rating and Healthgrades Top 100 Hospitals award.
Prior to that, she served in various roles across different divisions at HCA Healthcare, including chief operating officer of Reston Hospital Center in the Capital Division and chief operating officer of HCA Florida Sarasota Doctors Hospital in the West Florida Division. She also led operations in Florida as assistant vice president of operations at HCA Florida Aventura Hospital in 2016.
“Allyssa brings successful strategic leadership, operational efficiency and a passion for improving patient outcomes,” said Charles Gressle, president, HCA East Florida Division.
“We are excited about welcoming Allyssa back to the Miami-Dade market and HCA East Florida.”
Tobitt holds both a bachelor’s degree and an MBA from Middle Tennessee State University.
