Miami Arts Studio 6-12 @ Zelda Glazer gets $150,000 from Florida Legislature

Miami-Dade County School Board member Monica Colucci, State Sen. Ana Maria Rodriguez, former state representative and current clerk of the court Juan Fernandez-Barquin, and State Rep. Juan Carlos Porras joined on Tuesday, Aug. 15, in presenting Miami Arts Studio 6-12 @ Zelda Glazer with a check for $150,000 in additional funds from the Florida Legislature.

Miami Arts Studio 6-12 @ Zelda Glazer, located in District 8, is an A-rated school where students receive innovative instruction focused on academic achievement and the arts. These additional state funds will be used towards hiring industry professionals who will offer private and small-group instruction to improve individual student’s techniques. This strategic investment will empower students at Zelda Glazer to compete effectively for college scholarships and future professional opportunities.

The funds also will be used to facilitate the expansion of student performances in state, national, and international festivals, competitions, and venues.

Accompanying board member Colucci and on behalf of the school district were South Region superintendent Rafael Villalobos and Miami Arts Studio 6-12 @ Zelda Glazer School principal Dr. Miguel A. Balsera.
