This bird’s eye view looking north toward Kendall Drive shows progress of $400 million Miami Cancer Institute under construction on the Baptist Hospital campus. Scheduled to open in 2016, the new Miami Cancer Institute will consolidate outpatient clinical services, a cancer research facility and signature technology platforms with South Florida’s first proton therapy center, all under one roof. The 395,000-square-foot cancer institute will house both a 305,000-square-foot clinical cancer center and a 90,000-square-foot research facility, interconnected with the existing Baptist Hospital. Two parking garages with 1,400 spaces will serve the four-story facility.
