Miami Christian Lady Victors win back-to-back state championships

Under the leadership of head coach Chanel Davila and coach Maggie Rosario, the Miami Cristian School Lady Victors defeated the Faith Academy Lions of Orlando, 66-59, to take the FHSAA 2A State Basketball Championship.

Enjulina Gonzalez, who will be playing for Mercer University next year, had a double double with 24 points and 10 rebounds. Zuli Gonazlez scored 15 points; Eizanenirys Allende, 12 points, and Samantha Vales, 10 points.

The Victors got off to a fast start and never looked back. In the third quarter they outscored Faith Academy 20-9 and although Faith made a run in the fourth quarter, the Victors maintained the lead throughout.

This is the second consecutive 2A state title for the Victors.

The team members were: Eizaenirys Allende, Victoria Aranguren, Madison Betancourt, Hailey Clements, Enjulina Gonzalez, Ziul Gonzalez, Amira Marquez and Samantha Vales.
