Miami-Dade Elder Affairs Advisory Board elects new officers for 2024

The Miami-Dade County Elder Affairs Advisory Board (EAAB) recently elected its chair, first vice chair, and second vice chair to serve a one-year term that will end in November. They are:

Chair Paul Hunt, who joined the EAAB as a member in 2019 and later became vice chair, was elected as chair by his peers on the board. With a notable background as the former director of the Area Agency on Aging for Miami-Dade and Monroe counties and a past faculty member at Florida International University’s School of Social Work, Hunt brings a wealth of experience to his new leadership role.

First Vice Chair Rosa Kasse, who joined the EAAB as a member in 2021, is a distinguished community leader and the founder of the Hispanic Coalition, as well as other notable organizations. In addition to her service on the EAAB, she holds the position of president and founder of the Miami Dominican Lions Club and the Dominican Children Foundation.

Kasse also serves as a member of the Miami-Dade County Domestic Violence Oversight Board.

Second Vice Chair Magali Abad, who joined the EAAB in 2018, has more than 40 years of dedicated experience in community-focused endeavors. Renowned for her expertise in community relations and communications, Abad has held influential positions, such as chair of the Miami-Dade County Commission for Women and the Mercy Hospital Auxiliary. She actively contributes to the South Florida Hispanic Chamber of Commerce, demonstrating her commitment to fostering collaboration and growth within the community.
