Applications are open for Miami-Dade County Public Schools’ (M-DCPS) renowned Magnet programs for the 2025-26 school year. With an expanded array of themes, cutting-edge programs, and opportunities from aerospace to artificial intelligence, M-DCPS is redefining what is possible in public education.

Parents eager to secure their child’s future can apply exclusively through the M-DCPS Parent Portal via dadeschools.net until Jan. 15, 2025. This applies to new and current students.

“M-DCPS is committed to providing a world-class education that ignites innovation, passion and fuels ambition,” said superintendent Dr. Jose L. Dotres. “Our Magnet programs, offered at no cost, empower students to explore their unique talents and prepare for success in the 21st Century.

Highlights for the 2025-26 school year:
• M-DCPS has expanded from five to 11 themes of study, making it easier for families to find the perfect Magnet program for their child based on their unique interests and aspirations. Families can visit miamimagnets.org to explore these options and discover the program that best fits their child’s needs. These themes are:
• Arts & Multimedia
• Business & Finance
• Early Childhood & Education
• Fine Arts
• Health Sciences
• Information Technology
• International & Advanced Studies
• On-Demand Learning
• Public Service
• STEM
• Trade & Industry

New Programs: This year the district launched the first Industrial Biotechnology Magnet at Miami Jackson Senior High School and the first Electric Vehicle Automotive Technology Magnet program at Carol City Senior High School.

Expanded Opportunities: The Apple Coding program has expanded to two high schools, South Miami Senior High School and Felix Varela Senior High School. Artificial Intelligence Magnet programs are now available at two high schools: Southwest Miami Senior High School and Miami Edison Senior High School.

Space Hub at Hialeah-Miami Lakes Senior High: In partnership with Space Florida, this innovative hub will offer students the opportunity to apply for one of five specialized aerospace academies: Applied Engineering, Applied Robotics, Systems Coding, Electrical Systems, and Science & Design.

With 119 schools and 400 programs spanning PK-12th grade, M-DCPS Magnet programs offer a pathway to a brighter future for every child.
