Miami-Dade School Board chair and District 6 Representative Mari Tere Rojas, during the meeting of Dec. 17, 2025, proffered agenda item B-3, recognizing the retirement of Miami-Dade County Public Schools (M-DCPS) former chief communications officer, Vivian Santiesteban-Pardo.
After years of dedicated service, Santiesteban-Pardo played a pivotal role in connecting schools, families, and the community through clear and compassionate communication. Her professionalism, vision, and commitment to transparency strengthened trust across M-DCPS and ensured every message reflected the district’s mission of putting students first.
Throughout her career, Santiesteban-Pardo served in numerous roles, including English/Language Arts teacher, assistant principal, principal, region superintendent, assistant superintendent, and ultimately chief communications officer. At every level, she brought innovation, compassion, and dedication to advancing student achievement and community engagement.
Santiesteban-Pardo’s commitment to excellence was rooted in a strong academic foundation. She earned a Bachelor of Arts in English from Florida International University and a Master of Science in Educational Leadership from Nova Southeastern University. This powerful blend of education and experience shaped the knowledge, insight, and vision that defined her distinguished career in public service.
“As Ms. Santiesteban-Pardo begins this well-earned new chapter, the Miami-Dade County School Board extends its most heartfelt gratitude for her dedicated service and wishes her joy, rest, and continued inspiration,” Rojas said.
