The Miami Marlins and Ironhack, a global EdTech company known for their high-quality tech bootcamps and talent solutions, have announced a new, first-in-the-MLB partnership. Joining the Miami Marlins at their home in loanDepot park, this partnership makes Ironhack the first technology training provider to create a year-round on-site presence and host classes within a Major League Baseball park, and brings together two organizations devoted to innovation, engagement, and building community.
Focused on providing life-changing bootcamps for students and enterprise tech talent solutions for companies of all sizes, Ironhack works to solve the tech talent gap at both ends for communities across the globe. As the Official Strategic Tech Talent Partner of the Marlins, Ironhack will provide a unique learning experience for Miami residents looking to change or boost their career with award-winning 9-week full-time programs in Web Development, Data Analytics, and UX/UI Design.
“At the Miami Marlins, we prioritize technology and innovation,” said Caroline O’Connor, Marlins President of Business Operations. “Beyond applying new technology to enhance our fan experience, we are thrilled to welcome Ironhack to loanDepot park and look forward to fueling the next generation of technology talent in our region and offering access to build career-changing skills.”
“We are excited to partner with the Miami Marlins to bring access and opportunity to the residents of my beloved hometown. The tech skills gap in our community is large and growing. To take full advantage of the Miami Tech Movement, residents need to have easy access to training that meets local needs. This novel partnership does just that,” said Karina DuQuesne, Chief People Officer and General Counsel at Ironhack.
Ariel Quinones, Ironhack’s co-founder, shared his hopes for the global impact of Ironhack. “We launched in Spain in 2013 but made Miami our second home in 2015 because of the opportunity and energy we saw here. This novel partnership with the Miami Marlins will allow us to scale our impact in building a regional workforce that is diverse and representative of the community, with specialized skill sets that meet the immediate needs of local and national enterprises.”
The partnership will provide unique programming opportunities to the Miami community including monthly workshops, hackathons, and social tech events within loanDepot park. Students of all backgrounds will have the opportunity to work on real-world projects for the Miami Marlins aimed at empowering the organization on and off the field. Through this partnership, Ironhack and the Miami Marlins hope to bridge the tech equity gap in Miami and the state of Florida (as the Bootcamp will be available to all residents) by providing opportunities to build tech talent within the community. Additionally, Ironhack will take part in the Marlins’ first Tech Tuesday of the 2023 season on May 16.
For ten years, Ironhack’s programs have bridged the technical skills gap and created a diverse pipeline of new tech talent to match the needs of its communities. The partnership kicked off in March with the latest cohort of Ironhackers. To find out more, visit the new campus, or join the next cohort, please visit https://www.ironhack.com/us/
