Miami Music Project has announced the naming of Ariel Acosta-Rubio as chairman of its board of trustees.
Acosta-Rubio, a dedicated board member for the past two years, will work closely with president and CEO Anna Klimala to enhance the organization’s outreach and impact through innovative initiatives and strong governance.
Acosta-Rubio, co-founder and CEO of Churro Mania, brings a wealth of experience in entrepreneurship, business development, and leadership. His extensive background in the food industry, coupled with his commitment to community service, already has significantly impacted the Miami Music Project. As chair, Acosta-Rubio will oversee board operations, contribute to strategic planning, and ensure that the organization maximizes its impact and reach in Miami.
“Since its inception, our organization has been blessed with extraordinary board leadership, and Ariel Acosta-Rubio is no exception,” Klimala said. “Ariel’s background, experience, and business acumen have been invaluable to our work. I am delighted to now have the opportunity to work with Ariel as the board chair, and I look forward to learning from his experience to benefit and advance our mission of transforming lives through music education.”
Music has always been vital in Acosta-Rubio’s life. Born in Venezuela, he participated with his children in El Sistema, the social impact music program founded in 1975 by José Antonio Abreu. This experience steered Churro Mania’s corporate responsibility toward music education. In 2009, he founded the Viva La Música (VLM) program, an initiative providing musical training opportunities and supplies to community centers with instruments in Venezuela.
Miami Music Project represents Acosta-Rubio’s first commitment to improving Miami’s youth. He aims to supercharge Miami Music Project’s development, attracting more executive leaders to give back to the communities that enable their success.
“As business leaders in Miami-Dade, we have a unique opportunity to invest in local social initiatives that reflect the values of this land of opportunity,” Acosta-Rubio said. “By supporting programs that uplift the most vulnerable members of our community, we contribute to the growth and well-being of our neighbors and help build a stronger, more vibrant future for everyone. It’s our responsibility to give back and ensure that the next generation has every chance to succeed.”
