Miami Women’s Panhellenic Association celebrated its 100th anniversary a few years ago and they still are going strong.

This past year was especially challenging for the group, led by Isabelle Wheeler of Palmetto Bay, due to restrictions on meeting in person. But these sorority alumnae, who continue to raise over $1,000 a year for scholarships given at the University of Miami and Florida International University used their creativity to continue to join together.

Initially the group met virtually via Zoom for programs that ranged from “How To Create a Terrarium” to “How to Maximize your Profile on Linked-in.” The annual holiday luncheon was a hybrid event with some attending live with precautions and some joining via Zoom.
In recognition of their creativity, programming and philanthropic involvement, the National Alumnae Panhellenic awarded them the National Certificate of Merit and the National Programming Excellence Award.

Other board members of the group include Doreen Furnari (Pinecrest), immediate past president; Anjelica Fiol (Kendall); Anne Helliwell (Coral Gables); Kathleen Moorman (South Miami), and Elizabeth Battaglia (Kings Bay).

All sorority alumnae are welcome to join this group and can find information on their Facebook page (Miami Women’s Panhellenic) and website (https://miamiwomenspanhellenic.org).
