Navarro Discount Pharmacy, owned and operated by CVS Health has announced that 28 Greater Miami locations now are authorized to accept the Special Supplemental Nutrition Program for Women, Infants, and Children (WIC) for eligible grocery items and infant formula purchases.
The locations are among the first CVS Pharmacy stores in the nation, outside of Hawaii, authorized to accept WIC benefits for both categories.
The authorization expands access to nutritious food and infant support for families throughout Miami-Dade County, allowing eligible WIC participants to use their benefits at participating Navarro stores across the region.
“WIC plays an important role in helping families access infant formula and nutritious foods for their children,” said Zach Dennett, vice president, Merchandising, CVS Health. “By accepting WIC benefits at Navarro locations across Greater Miami, we’re helping make it easier for local families to access these important products in the communities where they live.”
WIC is a federally funded nutrition program providing eligible pregnant individuals, new parents, infants, and young children with access to nutritious foods, nutrition education, breastfeeding support, and healthcare referrals.
At participating Navarro Discount Pharmacy locations, WIC benefits may currently be used to purchase eligible WIC-approved products, including infant formula and select grocery items, in accordance with program guidelines.
Area participating Navarro Discount Pharmacy stores: 8740 Bird Rd., 10720 SW 72 St., 15000 SW 72 St., 14665 SW 104 St., 14491 SW 42 St, 14055 SW 88 St., Miami; 2120 SW 32 Ave., Coral Gables, and 2614 NE 10 Ct., Homestead.
