A new Walmart Supercenter, located at 15601 SW 127 Ave. in South Miami-Dade County, opened its doors to the community on Nov. 3, bringing a broad assortment of fresh groceries and general merchandise at everyday low prices.
Customers also will enjoy convenient on-site services such as a full drive-through pharmacy and vision center, Grab and Go food section, Dollar Shop, Auto Center, Garden Center, and self-checkout. Walmart’s popular Online Delivery and Pickup service will be available just in time for the holidays.
Already offering customers an easy way to shop millions of products on Walmart.com, the new Supercenter makes it even more convenient with many items now available for residents to pick up the same day. The new store, located within the Coral Reef Commons shopping center, will employ approximately 300 full- and part-time associates.
“We are proud to be a part of the South Miami-Dade community,” said store manager Juan Pinillos. “Now that we are open, we look forward to providing area residents with Walmart’s everyday low prices, fresh groceries, and a variety of health and wellness services. For our customers who are on the go, we encourage them to shop online at Walmart.com or in the Walmart mobile app, and then pick up their order at our store.”
Walmart has been serving Miami-Dade County since 1992. This is the 15th Supercenter in Miami-Dade County, employing more than 8,000 associates.
The Coral Reef Supercenter includes a full grocery store with fresh produce, meat, pantry staples and more at Walmart’s everyday low prices. In addition to organics and nutritious food choices, customers will also find a full-service deli and in-store bakery offering custom cakes.
A full-service pharmacy offers health and wellness services. The pharmacy offers a full range of products and services, including prescription and over-the-counter medications, vaccines, health monitors and more. The pharmacy features a drive-through window for added convenience.
Nearby residents can transfer prescriptions easily and order refills on the go with the Walmart mobile app. In addition, a full-service vision center offers a wide variety of affordable, quality eyewear — including glasses and contacts — optical products for all ages, and on-site eye exams.
The store is approximately 154,300 square feet in size and stocked with quality electronics, furniture, automotive, sporting goods, home improvement, apparel, toys and more from top brands at Walmart’s everyday low prices. Like all Walmart stores, the Coral Reef store will feature Walmart Pickup, and free shipping from Walmart.com on eligible items.
The Walmart mobile app for iPhone and Android makes shopping easier than ever.
Customers can refill prescription medications, create shopping lists, search the location of items in their store, check weekly ads and prices, save eReceipts and shop Walmart.com through the app.
The new store employs approximately 300 associates for full- and part-time positions within the store. Applicants interested in careers at Walmart can apply at a store’s hiring kiosk or online at Walmartcareers.com.
Walmart maintains a strong commitment to supporting its customers and encouraging its associates to volunteer and engage in their communities. The store’s opening celebration included a recognition of various local not-for-profit and community partners, chosen by store associates who were awarded grants from Walmart.org and the Walmart Foundation.
Various grant recipients include the Miami Military Museum, The Humane Society of Miami, Coral Reef High School, Miami-Dade Police Department, and Miami-Dade Fire & Rescue.
Zoo Miami, Walmart’s neighbor, is the recipient of a $27,000 gift to support the Conservation Teen Scientist (CTS) program at Zoo Miami Foundation as well as multiple virtual and onsite education programs for students in Miami-Dade County. CTS recruits 200 local high school students each year to participate in immersive STEAM curriculum and professional self-development programs.
Walmart also is a longtime supporter of the Live Like Bella Childhood Cancer Foundation. In addition to ongoing volunteer work, Walmart is donating $50,000 to the organization, in support of childhood cancer research and families of children with pediatric cancer.
Store hours are 6 a.m.-11 p.m. seven days a week.
