Founding member of the GFWC Doral West Dade Woman’s Club.

Founding members of a new General Federation of Women’s Clubs (GFWC) Doral West Dade Woman’s Club reconvened on Aug. 27, for an official first meeting during which they elected officers and approved by-laws.

The 2025-27 officers include president, Gloria Burns; first vice president, Maria Prado; second vice president, Nadya Gribanova; treasurer, Stacy Alonso, and Recording Secretary, Barbara Romani Carroll.

Joining the group as founding members were Nubielena Medina, Jeneissy Azcuy, Arely Ruiz, Marti Bueso, Emma Machlin, Susie Vicaria, Rosemary Guilfoyle, Iris Garcia and Dr. Ruth Martinez.

Dr. Martinez, GFWC Florida’s District 11 director, was instrumental in guiding the club through the startup process. She was joined by Burns and Ruiz in attending the GFWC Florida Fall Board on the weekend of Sept. 26-28 to be recognized and welcomed as a new GFWC club.

The GFWC Doral West Dade Woman’s Club will fill a void for GFWC FL clubs in the greater Doral, Miami Lakes and West Dade area. Those interested in joining the new club can contact Burns at gloria@cnews.net.
