Miami-Dade County Property Appraiser Pedro J. Garcia has released 2023’s June 1 Estimates of Taxable Values to the taxing authorities/cities of Miami-Dade County.
The countywide estimated taxable value for 2023 is $424.2 billion, an increase of over $46 billion, or 12.3 percent, when compared to 2022.
The Miami-Dade County tax roll has seen double digit growth for the second consecutive year. This year’s $46 billion increase is $7 billion greater than last year’s record increase of $39 billion.
“The steep increase in values, driven by a heated real estate market, will force many property owners to pay higher property taxes, which many cannot afford. I urge the county, cities and the school board to consider a 3 percent reduction in their respective millage rates to help our residents cope with the increased cost of home ownership,” Property Appraiser Garcia said.
The June 1 Estimates of Taxable Values are only estimates, which are subject to change.
The official certification date for the 2023 assessment roll is on July 1.
