Friday, April 17 will be Publix Serves Day in communities throughout the Southeast. Publix Super Markets associates are celebrating the company’s 85thanniversary this year by giving back to the communities in which we live and work.
Publix founder George Jenkins was a giving person and believed in supporting the community. What better way to honor his legacy than to encourage others to give back as well. Mr. George, as he was affectionately called, was once asked what he thought he would be worth if he hadn’t given so much away. He humbly responded “Probably nothing.” “Giving back is a part of the Publix culture and mission, we are proud to support the work of many organizations that provide an essential lifeline to those who need it most in the communities where we work and live.” said Nicole Krauss, media and community relations manager for Publix’s Miami Division.
On April 17th hundreds of Publix associates will take to the streets to make a difference in their communities by volunteering to help organizations focused on youth, education, hunger or homelessness. Projects will include beautification efforts, feeding those in need, backpack programs, and so many more.
