PuppySpot, a service committed to helping responsible breeders place their puppies with caring individuals and families across the U.S., made its first Wounded Warrior puppy placement on May 6 with a Kendall veteran. William Weaver II, who comes from a long lineage of military service Weaver’s referral to the Wounded Warrior program came from his social worker, Masha Andreoni of the Miami Veterans Administration Hospital, where he has been receiving treatment from injuries sustained during a deployment in Iraq.

Weaver currently has a 12-year-old doberman pinscher at home but has not had a puppy in a long time. PuppySpot placed Misty, a three-month-old doberman pinscher female, with him on May 6.

Weaver said he is excited to have the energy of a puppy in his home and that it will be very therapeutic to train her.
