Riviera Preparatory student to perform at Carnegie Hall
Thiago Esslinger

Thiago Esslinger, a sophomore at Riviera Preparatory School, has been selected for the 2016 High School Honors Performance Series at Carnegie Hall.

Esslinger was to play the viola during Carnegie Hall’s 125th anniversary season in February with the Honors Symphony Orchestra. Participation in one of the five Honors Ensembles is limited to the highest-rated high school performers from across the world.

Earlier this year, Thiago auditioned for the Honors Performance Series and was accepted after a review by the Honors Selection Board. Acceptance to the elite group is a direct result of the talent, dedication, and achievements demonstrated in his application and audition recording.

Thiago has studied music for six years and is a member of the Greater Miami Youth Symphony. He already has participated in the Miami-Dade Middle School Honors Orchestra and the Middle School Honors Performance Series at Carnegie Hall.

Finalists come together in New York City for five days during February. They will have the opportunity to learn from world-renowned conductors and work with other finalists.
