School Board member Mary Blanco, District 7, hosted an End of Year Awards Ceremony on Apr. 24 at Devon Aire K-8 Center to recognize District 7 students, faculty, and staff for their commitment to excellence and accomplishments during the 2023-24 school year.
The end of the academic year is the time to celebrate and acknowledge the challenges overcome and the successes achieved throughout the school year. Accompanied by their families and school community, students were recognized for academic achievement and citizenship that go beyond numerical honors and reflect the students’ character, diligence, and hard work.
Blanco also presented awards to the Teacher of the Year and Rookie Teacher of the Year nominees from each District 7 school.
“It is a true honor for me to celebrate our students, teachers, and everyone whose contributions this year made District 7 a success,” Blanco said. “Our students, teachers and staff have worked incredibly hard, and we are all very proud of them. I personally applaud their efforts and thank them for the positive impact they have made on their respective school communities.”
In addition to showcasing the remarkable hard work and dedication of students, the evening also included artistic performances by talented District 7 students.
Blanco thanked everyone for contributing with their talents to make this an even more beautiful event and extended a special thank you to the Devon Aire K-8 Center administration and staff for graciously opening their doors to District 7.”
