The Miami-Dade County School Board approved an item at its June 20 meeting, proposed by School Board member Lubby Navarro, recognizing William Lehman Elementary School’s principal, Maria Cecilia Cruz for her 36 years of dedication to Miami-Dade County Public Schools (M-DCPS).
Cruz began her career with (M-DCPS) in 1981 as an educator at Silver Bluff Elementary School. Over the course of her career, she assumed various roles and has garnered many successes including being selected as Principal of the Year at the annual Dade Association of School Administrators event.
Cruz served as the principal at William Lehman Elementary School in Kendall for the past 20 years and leaves behind a legacy of strong partnerships with the PTA, a culture of excellence and the incredible Drama Factory event.
