School Board’s Monica Colucci hosts District 8 Christmas Bike Distribution
Volunteers and staff joined Santa in helping youngsters celebrate the holidays with new bicycles.

In the spirit of holiday giving, Monica Colucci, vice chair of the School Board of Miami-Dade County, hosted a Christmas Bike Distribution event on Dec. 17, delivering more than 400 new bikes to students in District 8. The event, which took place at G. Holmes Braddock Senior High School, spread much joy to students and their families for the holiday season.

Thanks to the generous donations of Ana Teresa Rodriguez, from New Land Theatricals Foundation, Ms. Rodriguez and Vice Chair Colucci were able to make this Christmas holiday extra special for children in the community. Students waited eagerly to receive their new bikes, and their excitement was evident by the smiles on their faces.

“This event would not have been possible without the contributions from Ana Teresa Rodriguez, a generous supporter of our community who coordinated the donations of bicycles. Together, we were able to give back to so many children in District 8,” Vice Chair Colucci said. “This event is a testament to what we can do when we work collaboratively.”

The event attracted hundreds of families, and each child who received a bike had a chance to meet Santa and his elves. Volunteers and District 8 school staff collaborated to hand out bikes, making sure the magic of the Holidays filled the air.
