Miami-Dade Schools superintendent Alberto Carvalho will provide an update on progress of area school improvements at a Kendall Federation of Homeowner Associations meeting on Monday, Jan. 27, 7 p.m., at Kendall Village Center civic pavilion, 8625 SW 124 Ave.
Recently nominated for U.S. School Superintendent of the Year, Carvalho is expected to draw a standing room crowd for his presentation, noted Michael Rosenberg, KFHA president.
“Before voters approved the bond issue, Mr. Carvalho promised transparency and that is exactly what he has delivered,” Rosenberg said adding, “That along with a progressive educational system recognized nationally as a model of excellence.”
The $1.2 billion measure provides for facility renovations, technology updating, school replacement funding, expansion of student capacity and safety enhancements.
The KFHA town meeting, open to the public, is the first scheduled in 2014.
