The Miami-Dade 2024 Solar Co-op has selected Cutler Bay Solar Solutions (CBSS) to install solar panels for the 33-member group. Co-op members selected Cutler Bay Solar Solutions through a competitive bidding process.
The group held an in-person Solar 101 on Wednesday, Jan. 15, in English and will hold a virtual Solar 101 on Tuesday, Feb. 11, in Spanish to educate the community about solar and the co-op process. There also will be a Florida-wide virtual Solar 101 on Tuesday, Feb. 4.
“At Cutler Bay Solar Solutions, we are very proud to once again be selected to service the Miami-Dade County Solar Co-op,” said Raul Vergara, founder of Cutler Bay Solar Solutions.
“As a local member of this wonderful community, we are very happy to support local efforts and provide fantastic service to all residents of Miami-Dade County. Thank you, Solar United Neighbors and local officials, for supporting this great cause. Let the sun power your lifestyle.”
Solar United Neighbors expands access to solar by educating Miami-Dade residents about the benefits of solar energy, helping them organize group installations, and creating a more resilient community during hurricane season.
Co-op members selected Cutler Bay Solar Solutions because of the company’s competitive pricing and experience with solar co-ops.
“I was very impressed with how Solar United Neighbors prepared for the installer selection meeting and how my fellow committee members dug into the bids to bring up the strengths and weaknesses of the offerings,” said Annik Babinski, member of the co-op selection committee. “I am very comfortable with the thorough process that resulted in selecting Cutler Bay Solar Solutions as the installer.”
“As an architect I have participated in contractors selection committees off and on for 46 years,” said selection committee member J. Robert Barnes. “In the end it is important to weigh the experience, locality and quality of the contractor’s reputation for delivering and standing behind their product. I recommend that everyone interested in installing solar should participate in the review process.”
The co-op is open to new members until Feb. 26. Miami-Dade area residents interested in joining the co-op can sign up at solarunitedneighbors.org/Miami or solarunitedneighbors.org/Miamiesp.
The solar co-op is free to join and is not a commitment to purchase panels. CBSS will provide each co-op member with an individualized proposal based on the group rate. By going solar as a group and choosing a single installer, members can save on the cost of going solar and have the support of fellow group members and solar experts at Solar United Neighbors.
