Successful rescue earns recognition for policeAlert work by a team of Miami-Dade Police Kendall District police officers helped to rescue a missing individual with physical and mental issues who had hidden himself in a crawl space under a Florida’s Turnpike bridge west of SW 117 Avenue on May 11. After spotting just the tip of a sneaker, Officer Raziel Tejeda summoned Sgt. Alkibiades Dodge and Officer Lajos Hadobas to rescue the missing man, summon a fire rescue unit and transport him to Kendall Regional Medical Center for emergency medical assistance. Pictured at the Kendall District Citizens Advisory Committee’s Officer of the Month citation presentations on June 29 are (l-r) CAC chair Barry White, Officer Tejeda, Capt. Brian Rafky, Maj. Andrew Glass, Chief Ariel Artime and Sgt. Dodge. Officer Hadoblas was unable to attend the presentation.
