Tadpole the Clown brings joy to children’s hospital patients

The Youth Fair’s popular Tadpole the Clown made his rounds delivering bright smiles and laughter to the pediatric patients and families at Holtz Children’s and Baptist Children’s hospitals during two separate visits. His special surprise took place at Holtz Children’s Hospital on Mar. 24 and Baptist Children’s Hospital on Mar. 30, where patients also received a special treat as a part of Tadpole’s visit.

“We were excited to extend our celebration of 65 years of smiles outside of the fairgrounds to children who were not able to visit us this year,” said Bob Hohenstein, president and CEO.

Tadpole the Clown is always a crowd favorite and has been a part of The Youth Fair’s strolling entertainment for more than 18 years.

Tadpole the Clown along with his clown partner, Katie, are professional clowns, magicians and entertainers who engaged in daily adventures while exploring the fairgrounds, saying hello to old friends and making new friends. The clowns use a number of vehicles and props to treat and entertain guests.

He lives in the Peanut Capitol of the World, Sylvester, GA. Tadpole is a Georgia Certified Firefighter and Fire Safety Instructor, is a graduate and instructor of Clown School on the Road and a graduate of the Georgia Fire Academy Clown School. He has performed all over the U.S. and Canada with audience participation, laughter, and miles and miles of smiles.
