Everyone loves the shape of the 2022 Nissan Frontier I have been driving. It looks great.

So do I. It drives like a beast, with 310 horsepower coming from a 3.8-liter V6 engine. According to Nissan, no corners were cut with Frontier’s full-length, fully boxed frame. A strong frame is what durability is all about, and Frontier has strength you can feel inside and outside the vehicle.

This monster generates 281 pounds/feet of power at a starting price of about $28,000. And don’t worry, there’s no “base engine.” With Frontier, you don’t have to upgrade because this engine and transmission combination comes standard.

In the city this truck gets 18 miles per gallon and 24 miles per gallon on the highway, with 20 combined miles per gallon.

So let’s get down to the basics: the all-new 2022 Frontier builds on Nissan’s six-plus decades of midsize truck leadership with a bold new exterior, stylized interior and the latest driver assistance and connectivity technologies. It is an authentic midsize truck with a range of body, drivetrain and equipment configurations carefully selected to fit customer needs.

The 2022 Frontier King Cab is offered in 4×2 and 4×4 S and SV grades with a 6-foot bed. The 2022 Frontier Crew Cab is offered in 4×2 and 4×4 S and SV (SWB and LWB) grades, as well as PRO-4X (4×4 only) and new-for-2022 PRO-X (4×2 only) grades. All Crew Cab models feature a 5-foot bed except the SV LWB model, which features a 6-foot bed.

When it’s time to haul a full load, the 2022 Nissan Frontier utilizes direct injection, which gives you a quick response, with up to 6,720 pounds of maximum towing capacity. The smooth, 9-speed automatic transmission is integrated seamlessly into this powerful package of performance.

For maximum ground clearance, approach and departure angles, Frontier’s underside is free of low-hanging components, and has a rear suspension with the leaf springs over — instead of under — the rear axle.

This truck engineered for toughness and durability maximizes the tires’ contact with the ground. The Frontier’s front suspension helps it maintain grip in a variety of conditions, which essential to driving with confidence. In the rear, the overslung rigid leaf spring design helps deliver both off-road prowess and high-load durability. All these details matter and should make a difference when making a decision about a new purchase.

From a driver-selectable 4-wheel-drive to an available hill descent control, you’ve got serious off-road features with the all-new Frontier. And with new technological innovations like the available Intelligent Around View Monitor with Off-Road Mode, you’ll get the help you need to conquer tougher terrain, with more confidence than you’ve ever felt in a midsize truck.

At the end of the day, I go with how I feel when I’m behind the wheel and when I’m using the truck bed. This is a great truck that will let you experience the road in a whole new way.
