The Kendall Community Honors Our Police and Firefighters

kendall police and firefighters award 2017

The Kendall Federation of Homeowner Associations will be hosting our annual Police and Firefighters Awards and we would like to invite you to attend.   On this special evening we will be sharing our appreciation of these brave police officers and firefighters with YOU…..the community.

Monday, November 13, at 7:00 pm, will be a very special evening for our Kendall Community.  Kendall Regional Medical Center, our amazing trauma hospital in South Florida, along with the KFHA, will be sponsoring an evening where we honor our bravest of the brave … the Police Officers and Firefighters that risk their lives for us as they go about their daily jobs.

We are delighted to once again have as our guest Chief David Downey who is the director of our firefighters and paramedics, Director Juan Perez who is in charge of the Miami Dade County Police department, as well as a doctor from Kendall Regional Hospital.

We will also be talking about….Opioids. Chief Downey will be sharing what first responders deal with when they get the call of someone overdosing, and talk about the lives they save…and can’t save. Director Perez will be addressing the attempt to stop the source of the opioids, and our emergency room doctor will explain what happens at the hospital as they furiously try to save lives.

In Dade County there have been over 300 opioids deaths this year. Deaths from guns….about 80. Clearly, we have work to do.

Please join us as we celebrate our first responders and learn more about this deadly menace facing all communities across America.

The evening will feature Officers from The Hammocks Police Station and the Kendall Police Station, as well as Kendall Firefighters that have done incredible life-saving work … for us.  We will be introducing these Kendall heroes and honor these amazing individuals.  Please come and hear their stories.

One day, the lives they save may be yours!
When these awful situations occur, and there are serious injuries, where do the Police and Firefighters take the victims?  We are so fortunate that the Kendall Regional Medical Center has some of the top trauma physicians in the country.  We will have a trauma surgeon share with us what it is like when they first see these victims.

Please join us for an evening where we can say Thank You to those who work tirelessly doing everything possible to make sure our Kendall families have the best care and safety possible.
See you on November 13th.
