Coral Reef High School has announce that three juniors in the International Baccalaureate Academy — Arielle Cortina, Gabriela Gutierrez and Natalie Rodriguez — attended the Congress of Future Science and Technology Leaders in Boston, MA.
This is a national academic honors program with strict requirements, and any high school student nominated must have a minimum 3.5 GPA (or equivalent), either current or cumulative, to attend.
The National Academy of Future Scientists and Technologists is positioned to support students with skills, motivation, education, mentorship, and unique experiences, so they stay on track to achieve their goals.
The National Leadership Academies were founded on the belief that a strong emotional intelligence is the cornerstone of student success and is committed to supporting students in its development. The National Leadership Academies also recognize that schools identify prospective talent at the earliest possible age and help these students acquire the necessary experience and skills to take them to the doorstep of vital careers as leaders and in the fields of medicine and the sciences.
The Congress of Future Science and Technology Leaders is a gathering of the nation’s best and brightest future science and technology leaders who possess leadership potential and a desire to contribute to the field of science or technology. For three once-in-a-lifetime days, students are guided by some of the greatest minds in science and technology — men and women who are literally leading humanity into the miracles of the 21st Century. Students will come face-to-face with:
• Winners of the Nobel Prize, the most prestigious award in the world;
• Deans of top universities;
• World leaders in science;
• Our nation’s most innovative and successful technologists, and
• Award-winning young inventors and scientists.
Students discuss and observe state-of-the-art inventions and be inspired by world-changing researchers, futurists and technologists.
The Congress also gives students the rare opportunity to create long-term friendships with those who share their dreams and passion — other young people like them who want to truly make a difference and devote their futures to changing the world through science and technology.
