Candidates in three key races effecting Kendall voters will face off in the last of a series of Town Meeting forums before the Nov. 6 election, sponsored by Kendall Federation of Homeowners Association.
The final session of four held during 2012 will take place at 7 p.m. Monday, Oct. 29, in Kendall Village Center Civic Pavilion, 8624 SW 124 Ave., adjoining the Regal Kendall Stadium Village 16 theater. Candidates scheduled to appear:

Zapata; Manny Machado
Florida House District 115
Jeffrey Solomon (D); Michael Bileca (R)
U. S. Congressional House District 26
David Rivera (R); Joe Garcia (D)
Headlining the event primarily for West Kendall voters is the co-appearance of former State Rep. Juan Zapata who will go head-to-head to answer questions with Miami-Dade Police detective Manny Machado.
The Zapata-Machado race resulted when neither received more than 50% of the primary vote in non-partisan voting for the District 11 County Commission seat to be vacated by Joe Martinez.
District 11 includes represents many of West Kendall’s highly-populated communities, including Country Walk, The Hammocks, Kendale Lakes, Bent Tree and Lakes of the Meadows. Commissioner Xavier L. Suarez is unopposed on Nov. 6 for his District 7 Seat, representing several precincts in East Kendall.
Incumbent Rep. David Rivera (R) will appear to state his case against Democratic opponent Joe Garcia in what KFHA President Michael Rosenberg says “is a rare head-to-head meeting between the two of them.”
In a third panel for the Florida House District 115 post, Republican Michael Bileca, current holder of District 117 prior to re-districting, will appear with his opponent, Democrat Jeffrey (Doc) Solomon, President/Chiropractic Physician of Mobile Chiropractics, Inc.
“This will be the last opportunity for citizens to directly question these candidates,” Rosenberg declared. “For independent voters as well as party supporters, we’re expecting another full house, in the interest of giving everyone a chance to meet the candidates, as well as having them air their own views.”
The KFHA president urged voters to “carefully check registration cards since boundary changes in redistricting may have change voting locations.”
